My name is Cynthia Presser and there's more to me than just cooking. I am a happy, healthy, friendly, busy, fun, stay-at-home mom. I married my husband in 2009 and we have a wonderful little boy named Sebastian. My family is my everything!
How I Started Cooking
I used to be awful- I mean really, really bad at cooking. I grew up in Brazil and my mom and the ladies who used to work for us at our house would make breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I didn't need to cook. But out of the blue, at 16 years old, I became interested in recipes. I looked up recipes in magazines, cookbooks and old family recipe books and started trying them.
I made a lot of dishes that did not taste great and some terrible culinary mistakes that would make Julia Child pass out. But most of the time my food was actually pretty good! Every time I succeeded, it would make me even more curious, more excited, more encouraged to try new recipes. And that's how I learned.
I didn't go to culinary school. I do not intend to be, or dare compare myself to, some professional chefs out there who are absolute amazing and do way more than just cook. They create culinary art. My cooking is about fun, fresh, delicious, uncomplicated pleasure. I hope you enjoy the recipes I share here. Take a deep breath, turn on some blues, pour yourself a glass of wine, roll up your sleeves, and enjoy the scents that will come out of the skillet. Welcome to my favorite happy hour- my own kitchen.
